The Simsbury Land Trust is celebrating its 50th Anniversary.&nbsp; Since our founding in 1976, our mission has been to protect the scenic vistas, geological features, and farmland that define Simsbury’s character, while supporting healthy habitats for local wildlife and plants.
In celebration of this milestone, on Arbor Day, April 24, we are dedicating a White Oak, the state tree to the Town of Simsbury as a gesture of gratitude for the community’s&nbsp; support of our conservation efforts over the past five decades.&nbsp;
Following the dedication, we&nbsp; invite you to join us for a hike and scavenger hunt in Belden Forest led by Susan Masino.

Hop Meadow Country Club

The Friends of the Simsbury Public Library will hold their 2026 Spring Author Luncheon on Tuesday, May 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hop Meadow Country Club in Simsbury, CT.They will host New York Times bestselling author, Patti Callahan Henry, who will discuss her latest historical mystery novel, The Story She Left Behind, an engaging, lyrical tale based on a real, unsolved literary mystery of author Barbara Newhall Follett. The cost is $45 per person and includes an entree, bread basket, delicious dessert, and lemonade/ice tea, tea/coffee (cash bar). Books will be available for purchase and autographing. This is a popular event with limited seating so get your reservations in early! Please RSVP by April 30th.
