Eleven-year-old Connecticut resident Angélique Tribus was officially named the Young Humanitarian of the Year by the Foundation of Hope during a ceremony on Saturday. The prestigious event recognized the young artist and advocate for her dedicated efforts to make the world a better place through philanthropy.
The ceremony drew a large crowd of supporters, community members, and civic leaders who gathered to celebrate an elite group of individuals recognized for their profound contributions to the community.

In a powerful display of leadership, the presentation placed the 11-year-old alongside several of Connecticut’s most prominent public figures. Honored at the same event for their respective contributions to the state were Attorney General William Tong, Congressman Jim Himes, Former State Senator George Logan, and Westport First Selectman Kevin Christy.
As the only child being honored at the ceremony, Tribus demonstrated remarkable confidence and a fearless determination that captivated the audience. Delivering a powerful speech in front of a packed room, she was deeply humbled and thankful as she expressed her gratitude to the Foundation of Hope for the immense honor, noting the significance of sharing the platform with the state's top change-makers.

During her remarks, Tribus made sure to thank her art teacher, Rich DiCarlo, with whom she takes classes, as well as her parents, family, and friends for their unwavering support. Among the crowd cheering loudest was her best friend, Riley Adamo, reflecting a strong bond of mutual support for each other's endeavors. Armed with a clear voice and an unshakeable drive, Tribus proved she is fully committed to using her platform for the greater good.
Art with a Global Purpose
Tribus has firmly established herself as an advocate for vulnerable youth. In her art studio, she creates original fine artwork, selling her pieces to raise vital funds for international and nationwide organizations, including the United Nations, to support children and families in need.
Operating under the philosophy that individual daily actions can generate widespread change, Tribus's core focus is protecting vulnerable children. Her mission centers on a deep belief that every child, regardless of where they are born, deserves a foundation of dignity built on a safe home, a quality education, healthy meals, and the opportunity to feel deeply loved.
