Former NFL Star Sells Antique Greenwich Farmhouse After Several Price Cuts: Report

GREENWICH, CT — Former NFL star quarterback Chris Simms has sold his antique 1725 Greenwich farmhouse, according to realtor.com.

The final sale price was not reported.

The original asking price for the historic property at 640 Round Hill Road in February 2026 was $8 million. Since then, the asking price was slashed to $7.5 million in May, $6.9 million in June, and ultimately $6.2 million in August, data on Zillow shows.

Property records show the Simmses bought the home for $2.5 million in April 2019.

The 3,669-square-foot home features five bedrooms and five bathrooms, the listing notes, with wide-plank antique floors, exposed beams, preserved fireplaces and original architectural details.

According to Historic Properties of Greenwich, the farmhouse is also known as the Charles Green House. The home was expanded in 1952 and 1957, and ultimately protected as a local historic property in 2005.

The Historic Properties of Greenwich does not list 1725 as the build date, but mentions 1742.

"The Charles Green House is architecturally significant primarily because of its original c. 1742 core and its 18th century barn, and secondarily for its sensitive mid-20th century additions that incorporated salvaged elements from a number of structures, mostly colonial in origin," the Historic Properties of Greenwich website says.

"The original core is significant in general as one of the town’s best examples of a pre-Revolutionary house, and more specifically, as the premier example of the one-and-a-half story saltbox, a transitional, 18th century building type, previously unrecognized as such, which incorporates English and Dutch methods of construction and design."

The materials for the additions and alterations to the home came from demolished structures, notably a Colonial home in Plainfield, CT, and the Peter Ferris House in Greenwich, which was built in 1763 but demolished in 1957 because it stood in the way of the new Route 1, Greenwich Historic Properties noted.

The son of New York Giants legend Phil Simms, Chris Simms played in the NFL from 2003 to 2010, mostly with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before brief stints with the Tennessee Titans and the Denver Broncos.

Chris Simms entered broadcasting and served as a color commentator first for college football on Fox and then for the NFL on CBS from 2014 to 2016. Simms is currently an NFL analyst for NBC Sports.
