Greenwich High School Hall Of Fame Celebration To Return After 3-Year Hiatus

GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich High School Athletic Hall of Fame will induct seven people on Oct. 23 as its celebration returns after a three-year hiatus.

The 2026 class includes:

• Mike Brown, a 1976 graduate who played soccer, basketball and baseball
• Joe Cabrera, a 1977 graduate recognized for football and track and field
• Charles Dattola, a longtime director of health, physical education and athletics
• Peter McDevitt, who coached boys soccer, boys swimming, and boys track and field
• Carolyn Pagnano, who coached field hockey and girls basketball
• Dave Rice, a longtime football and boys basketball coach
• Douglas Springer, a 1964 graduate and boys swimming standout.

Dattola and McDevitt will be honored posthumously.

A free Hall of Fame social will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the GHS Performing Arts Center Galleria. T

he inductees will be recognized during a halftime ceremony at Cardinal Stadium, where Greenwich will play New Canaan High School in a football game scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m.

Current student-athletes and coaches will also take part in the celebration.

Additional details about the inductees and the Oct. 23 events will be announced in the coming weeks, an announcement from the school district said.
