Groton Open Houses Oct. 10-11: A Mystic River House With A Dock, A Power House Condo And 3 More

Five Groton homes, including three in Mystic, hold open houses Oct. 10-11, from a $220,000 condo to a $3.3 million riverfront house.

GROTON, CT — Groton's open houses this weekend come with a lot of water: a shingled house on the Mystic River with 176 feet of shoreline and its own dock facing Mystic Seaport, a condo in downtown Mystic's old "Power House" building, and an 1877 Colonial in the Fort Griswold neighborhood whose farmer's porch looks out at the Thames.

Five Groton homes, three of them in Groton's part of Mystic, are holding open houses Saturday, Oct. 10, and Sunday, Oct. 11, with prices from $220,000 to $3,295,000, according to Zillow.com.

520 Shennecossett Road #7, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., $220,000. This townhouse-style condo at Sound Breeze sits across the street from Shennecossett Golf Course, less than 2 miles from Eastern Point Beach. It spreads over three levels, including a full basement, and the community has an in-ground pool, a clubhouse and a tot lot. It's a two-bedroom, 1.5-bath condo with 1,248 square feet; the HOA fee is $344 a month.

72 Baker Ave., noon to 2 p.m. (also Sunday, noon to 2 p.m.), $374,900. New to the market Oct. 9, this 1877 Colonial in the historic Fort Griswold neighborhood has a farmer's porch with Thames River views, hardwood floors and ceilings over 9 feet. The remodeled eat-in kitchen has granite counters and sliders to a large deck over a newly fenced backyard. It's a three-bedroom, 1.5-bath home with 1,464 square feet.

15-1/2 Water St. #4, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., $1,195,000. This one-level, elevator-served condo is in "The Power House," a turn-of-the-century waterfront building in downtown Mystic, according to the listing. It has a 14-foot balcony over the Mystic River, a heat pump with central air and a covered garage space, and residents share a riverfront seating area. The listing notes that short-term rentals aren't allowed. It's a two-bedroom, two-bath condo with 1,314 square feet; the HOA fee is $610 a month.

Sunday, Oct. 11

261 Ridgewood Drive, 10 a.m. to noon, $519,900. In Mystic's Bel Aire neighborhood, this 1968 split-level sits on nearly half an acre backing up to woods. It has hardwood floors, a living room with a fireplace and crown molding, and a Brazilian hardwood deck reached from the dining room and kitchen. The lower level holds a family room and a fourth bedroom or office. It's a four-bedroom, 1.5-bath home with 1,776 square feet. Its price was cut by $10,000 on Oct. 6.

8 Park Place, noon to 2 p.m., $3,295,000. At the end of a dead-end street on the Mystic River, this shingled 1890 house has about 176 feet of shoreline, a private fixed dock and, according to the listing, panoramic views of Mystic Seaport Museum's tall ships and lighthouse. It has a first-floor primary suite with water views and expansive waterfront decks. It's a five-bedroom home with two full and two half baths and 3,176 square feet. Its price was cut by $200,000 on Sept. 22.
