Pickup Truck Hits Utility Pole, Driver Injured In Groton [UPDATED]
A major intersection was closed following an accident but has since fully reopened, police said.
GROTON, CT — A pickup truck struck a utility pole and brought down wires, closing an intersection in Groton on Sunday, according to police.
The accident was reported at the intersection of Route 1 and Buddington Road at 2:40 a.m. A pickup truck had taken down a utility pole and multiple electrical wires.
The driver was taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The intersection was closed to traffic Sunday. It has since reopened.
The traffic signals were without power and stop signs had to be used at the intersection.

However, police said late Monday morning that the intersection has fully reopened.
