20th Annual Shoreline Jewish Festival Upcoming In Guilford: Details

GUILFORD, CT — The 20th annual Shoreline Jewish Festival is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 2, from noon to 5 p.m. on the Guilford Green, where organizers will mark 250 years of Jewish life in the United States as America celebrates its semiquincentennial.

The festival will feature Jewish music, kosher food, a Jewish book sale, vendors, crafters and children's crafts and activities.

The musical lineup will include the NY Klezmer Series All-Stars, a five-piece klezmer ensemble; brothers Yehuda and Noah Solomon of Moshav and Soulfarm, whose music blends Hebrew lyrics and Middle Eastern melodies with country, bluegrass and rock; and the Mr. Shabbos Band, which performs Jewish and biblical songs influenced by country, bluegrass and rockabilly.

Artists and artisans are expected to sell Judaica, jewelry, clothing and artwork, while books of Jewish interest for children and adults will also be available.

Food offerings will include pulled beef brisket, hamburgers, hot dogs, falafel, grilled chicken shawarma, potato knishes, fresh mini donuts, cotton candy, sno-cones and more.

Children's activities will include inflatable attractions and Jewish-themed arts and crafts.

Admission is free, although organizers ask attendees to register online. Artists may reserve a booth for an $85 fee.
