Business Scam Awareness Program To Be Held In Guilford

"Scams targeting businesses are becoming all too common," said police, who will host the event with the Shoreline Chamber of Commerce.

GUILFORD, CT — The Guilford Police Department and Shoreline Chamber of Commerce are holding a Business Scam Awareness program in April.

“Scams targeting businesses are becoming all too common, and staying informed is one of the best ways to protect you and your employees,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “That’s why we’re collaborating with the Shoreline Chamber - CT to bring you a presentation on Business Scam Awareness.”

The event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7 at the Guilford Community Center.

Police said they will be “discussing common scam tactics, warning signs to look out for, and tips to help prevent your business from being victimized.”

“This presentation is open to all local business owners and their employees, free to attend, and no registration is required,” police wrote. “Light refreshments will be served. Protecting our local businesses helps protect our entire community. We hope to see you there!”
