Guilford Town Offices Closed, Board Of Education Meetings Canceled

The Guilford Police Department has implemented a parking ban on all town and state roads through noon on Tuesday, Jan. 27.

GUILFORD, CT — Guilford town offices are closed Monday, Jan. 26, due to impacts from the winter storm that rolled through the region Sunday into Monday.

Additionally, the Guilford Board of Education's Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Committee meeting and the first budget public forum, both scheduled for Monday evening, are canceled.

Mill Pond is also closed Monday for ice skating, and the Guilford Community Center and all programs are canceled, too.

There is already chatter on social media of another big snowstorm next weekend. That is way too early to conclude anything but after looking at one upcoming model, WTNH News 8 chief meteorologist Gil Simmons wrote on X, "If the Euro model becomes reality, many people will move south! WOW! First storm of concern is this coming weekend!"

For the record, the National Weather Service currently shows sunshine next weekend with temperatures below freezing. We'll see what develops over the week. Stay tuned.
