CVS Foundation Awards $1M To Greater Hartford Nonprofits, Who Got What?

HARTFORD, CT — The CVS Health Foundation is investing $1 million in 20 Greater Hartford nonprofit organizations through its 2026 Hometown Fund, supporting programs that expand access to health care, address food insecurity, increase housing stability and provide other essential community services.

The grants, announced last month, provide general operating support to organizations serving residents across the Greater Hartford region.

"We're investing in Hartford nonprofits that are meeting people where they are – helping individuals and families access health care, food, stable housing and the support they need to stay healthy," Jenny McColloch, president of the CVS Health Foundation, said in a statement.

"Through our Hometown Fund, we focus on communities our colleagues call home, supporting organizations that are addressing the everyday factors that shape wellbeing and making a difference in the Greater Hartford area."

Among the recipients is Hartford-based ImmaCare, which provides emergency shelter, housing assistance and wraparound services for people experiencing homelessness.

The organization said the funding will help expand access to housing support, mental health services and substance use treatment.

"ImmaCare is honored to receive a Hometown Fund grant from the CVS Health Foundation," Teresa A. Wierbicki, ImmaCare's director of strategic development, said in a statement.

"Flexible support like this is invaluable, allowing us to invest in strategic initiatives that strengthen our services, expand pathways to stable housing, and address the increasing challenges of homelessness and housing insecurity. Together, we are creating lasting opportunities for individuals to rebuild their lives."

According to CVS Health, this year's grant recipients reflect a range of organizations focused on improving community health, from helping older adults remain independent to expanding access to nutritious food, housing and health care.

The Hometown Fund supports nonprofit organizations in Greater Hartford and Rhode Island, communities where many CVS Health employees live and work.

The foundation said the grants are intended to help organizations address factors that influence health, including access to nutritious food, stable housing and medical care.

The announcement is part of CVS Health's broader community investment efforts in Connecticut.

According to the company, CVS Health and the CVS Health Foundation contributed more than $2.61 million in charitable giving across the state in 2025, in addition to volunteer service, workforce development initiatives and free health screenings through its Project Health program.
