Private Hartford Elementary School Appoints New Official

The school hired a new director of growth and development to lead fundraising and community partnerships.

HARTFORD, CT — Trinity Academy has named Shandia Drummond as its new director of growth and development, bringing an experienced nonprofit and operations leader to the tuition-free independent elementary school.

Drummond will oversee the school's fundraising and development efforts while expanding community partnerships to support Trinity Academy's continued growth and strategic initiatives.

"We're delighted to welcome Shandia to Trinity Academy," Trinity Academy Board of Trustees Chairman Mark Panico said in a statement. "She brings tremendous experience, a heart for our mission, and a genuine commitment to the Hartford community. As we enter an exciting new chapter, I know she'll play an important role in helping Trinity Academy continue to grow and serve more students and families."

Drummond most recently served as volunteer operations director at Angel of Edgewood, where she supported operations and development initiatives.

She previously served as director of operations for the Hartford Parking Authority and held leadership positions with Impact Branding and Design and Northwestern Mutual.

"I was drawn to Trinity Academy because of its commitment to students and families," Drummond said. "The school's mission is deeply meaningful to me, and I look forward to building relationships with our supporters and strengthening community partnerships."

The appointment also has personal significance for Drummond.

A longtime Hartford resident, she lives a few blocks from the school, and members of her family attended Trinity Academy before graduating from Grace Academy and Covenant Preparatory School.

Trinity Academy is an independent, privately funded, tuition-free elementary school serving students in kindergarten through fourth grade in the Hartford area. The school, now in its 14th year, focuses on intensive academics, innovation, the arts, literacy, and critical thinking while supporting students' social, emotional, and cultural development.
