Prominent CT Animal Hospital Announces Closure

BLOOMFIELD, CT — A longtime Bloomfield veterinary practice will permanently close next week after 34 years, with its final appointments scheduled for Friday.

Bloomfield Animal Hospital announced on social media that it will permanently close for business Wednesday, Sept. 9. Its last day seeing patients will be Friday, Sept. 4.

"We understand how sudden and difficult this news may feel," the animal hospital said in announcing the closure.

The practice did not provide a reason for the closing in the announcement.

Bloomfield Animal Hospital said clients seeking continued veterinary care can turn to colleagues at Hopmeadow Animal Hospital in the Weatogue section of Simsbury.

"Please rest assured that our colleagues at Hopmeadow Animal Hospital are ready to welcome you and your pet and help provide continuity of care," the hospital said.

Additional information about upcoming appointments, obtaining medical records, and arranging continued care for pets is available through Bloomfield Animal Hospital's website.

The hospital thanked clients and the community for their support over the years.
