Lifeguards No Longer On Duty At Madison's Beaches

MADISON, CT — As of Monday, lifeguards are no longer on duty at Madison's beaches, with summer winding down to close, according to officials.
Many of the town's lifeguards are college students, and their new school years beckon.
The town began to pull lifeguards off duty on Aug. 17 at East Wharf, and then pulled those off at Surf Club on Sunday.

"A reminder that parking passes are still required at all three Town beaches seven days a week until Labor Day," First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons wrote in a recent community update. "Beach parking passes for the 2026 summer season are available for purchase online, through the mail, or in person."
