State Police Car Out-Duels Corvette After Reckless Incident Near UConn
A high-speed incident left the driver of a Corvette with charges in Mansfield, state police said.

MANSFIELD, CT — A Corvette lost its battle with a state police cruiser in Mansfield last week, state police said.
State police recently released a report on the June 22 incident.
At 9:23 p.m. that day, a trooper was monitoring traffic on Route 195 near Horsebarn Hill Road and the University of Connecticut when he clocked a Corvette at 75 mph heading south in a 25 mph zone, according to an arrest report.

The driver, later identified as a 30-year-old from Mansfield, then passed another vehicle in a no-passing zone, according to an arrest report.
As the Corvette continued on Route 195 at a high rate of speed, the Trooper gave chase and caught it at the North Eagleville Road intersection, according to an arrest report.

The Corvette sped up even faster but the driver eventually gave up and pulled over, according to an arrest report.
He was charged with improper passing, reckless driving and disobeying the signal of an officer.
