Temporary Bridge Closure Announced In Meriden

The CT Department of Transportation is advising motorists of a bridge rehabilitation project that will take place over the next two months.

MERIDEN, CT — The Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced that bridge rehabilitation will be performed on the North Wall Street Bridge over I-691 in Meriden starting this weekend.

The work is scheduled to start on Sunday night, June 28, at 6 p.m. and be completed by Sunday, Aug. 23, according to officials.

“A detour will be implemented at both ends of the North Wall Street Bridge while the bridge is being rehabilitated,” officials wrote in an advisory. “Pedestrian traffic over the bridge will be maintained throughout this period.”

DETOUR INFORMATION

The North Wall Street Bridge over I-691 will be closed starting Sunday, June 28 at 6 p.m. to Sunday, Aug. 23, at 6 p.m. Traffic will follow posted detour.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
