Woman Charged In Attempted Human Trafficking Of 2 Juveniles: Meriden Police

MERIDEN, CT — A woman has been arrested in connection with the attempted human trafficking of two juveniles, according to Meriden police.

While investigating a report of a missing juvenile, police said two underage females were found in the company of 24-year-old Janesleon Colon-Santana.

“Both juveniles were found inside a hotel room that was being advertised online for commercial sexual services,” police wrote in a news release. “One of the juveniles was observed partially unclothed.”

Colon-Santana was arrested and charged with two counts of risk of injury to a child, and one count each of criminal attempt to commit human trafficking in persons, criminal attempt to commit commercial sexual abuse of a minor, first-degree promoting prostitution, and sale of narcotics.

Police said Colon-Santana was initially held on a $1 million bond, which was later reduced to $750,000 by the court. She posted bond and was released pending further court proceedings, according to police.
