Recent Death Notices From Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Here are the most recent death notices with Middletown connections.

Theresa Samolik, 95, died Sept. 6. She married Theodore Samolik Sr. in 1954, and the couple raised their family in Middletown.

Salvatore "Peezy" Pugliares, 41, died Sept. 5. He spent more than 20 years in the IT department at Jarvis Corporation. Pugliares also hosted a podcast, "2BeBlunt," that grew into a large local following over more than seven years. He is survived by his wife, Jessica, and two sons, Lorenzo and Nico.

Edward John Dypa, 93, died Aug. 19 at his home. He worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Manufacturing for 40 years as a quality assurance manager before retiring. He was predeceased by his wife, Genevieve "Genie" (Warankiewicz) Dypa.

Thomas J. Sugrue, 81, died Aug. 15. He and his wife, Dana Bonadies, lived in the Middletown area for more than 35 years. Sugrue spent his career at Connecticut Valley Hospital's Children's Unit, Long Lane School, Wethersfield High School and Wilbur Cross High School, working with at-risk youth. He is survived by his children, Jill Sugrue Ryan, Matthew Sugrue and Will Sugrue.

Jettie Ruth Brackett, 68, died Aug. 13 at Middlesex Hospital. She worked for many years at DNE Electronics in Wallingford.

Richard A. Hunt, 66, died Aug. 13. He owned Rick's Woodworking and also worked for many years at Wood'n Excellence. Hunt is survived by his wife, Julie (Chittenden) Hunt, a son, Derek Hunt, and a daughter, Breanne Hunt.
