Child, 12, On Bike Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries In Milford Crash: Report

MILFORD, CT — A 12-year-old child on a bicycle was struck from behind by a vehicle Sunday afternoon, police said.

"We are (on) scene investigating a serious motor vehicle accident where a 12 year old boy on a bicycle was struck from behind by a vehicle. Welches Point Rd between Midwood and Long Island View is closed," Milford police said.

WFSB 3 TV reports that the child was riding an electric bicycle at 11:45 a.m. when the child was struck by a car. The child suffered life-threatening injuries.

WFSB 3 TV reports that Robert Norden, 60, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence.
