District To Add Armed Security Officers At Several Milford Schools: Report

The school district made a funding request for armed security officers recently.

MILFORD, CT — The school district will add armed security officers at its eight elementary schools and an alternative high school this fall, according to Hearst Connecticut Media.

The Board of Aldermen approved a budget request last month that included a $576,000 item for the security officers.

The move comes following a rise in swatting incidents at Connecticut schools, where false threats led to lockdowns and police responses.
