Ernest C. Brown

Ernest found great joy in spending time with his grandson and great-grandson, who lovingly referred to him as "Grampy."

Ernest C. Brown, aged 96, of Milford, Connecticut and St. Augustine, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of the late Joan E. (Cuzio) Brown. Born on September 18, 1929, in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Anna (Dohanas) Lucas.

Mr. Brown began his career as a manager at the Hippodrome Theater and later served as a foreman for Singer Sewing Machine and Sikorsky Aircraft. He also established his own TV Appliance Repair business and spent the past 15 years before his retirement as Director of Maintenance at Foran High School in Milford. Among his many interests, Ernest found great joy in spending time with his grandson and great-grandson, who lovingly referred to him as “Grampy.” He also enjoyed traveling and gardening.

He is survived by his devoted son, Donald J. Brown and his wife, Beatrice; his grandson, Christopher J. Brown and his wife, Katherine and his great-grandson, Tyler J. Brown, all of Milford; and his brother, Gerald Brown of West Palm Beach, Florida. He is also survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, John and Vivien Cheeseman of Redding; his niece, Deidre Sheridan of Prospect; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends. He was predeceased by his sisters, Emma Sheridan and Ann Durivage, and his brothers, John Victor Brown and William Brown.
