Milford Resident Earns Democratic Nomination For State House Seat
A native of Milford has won the nomination for a state representative seat and will focus on affordability issues.
MILFORD, CT — Milford resident Alex Armstrong has won the Democratic nomination for state representative in Connecticut’s 119th House District, which includes parts of Milford and Orange.
The district is currently represented by Kathy Kennedy, a Republican.
Armstrong was unanimously nominated Wednesday night, according to his campaign.

In announcing his candidacy, Armstrong cited rising costs for electricity, housing, healthcare and childcare as key issues facing Connecticut residents. He said his campaign will focus on energy costs, local funding and coastal resiliency.
A Milford native, Armstrong attended Orange Avenue School, Harborside Middle School and Foran High School. He graduated from Georgetown University and later earned a master’s degree in political science from Yale University. Armstrong currently lives in Milford with his wife and two daughters.

Armstrong works for a global nonprofit organization and previously served on the Milford Sewer Commission and the Milford Pension and Retirement Board. He also volunteers with the Friends of Milford Library and is a member of the Milford Irish Heritage Society.
Election Day is Nov. 3. Early voting begins Oct. 19, and absentee voting begins Oct. 2.
