George R. DePoto, Sr. ,90, of North Branford passed away peacefully on October 17, 2026 in CT Hospice. Husband of the late Bernice Denison DePoto. Beloved father of Maria Samperi (Dan) of North Branford and George R. DePoto, Jr. (Lori) of Branford. Cherished grandfather of Axel Samperi (Lisa) and David Samperi, Jr. (Marisa). Caring great grandfather of Travis and Rocxen Samperi. Brother-in-law of Ken Martino of North Haven (who was more like a brother). Brother of Joseph DePoto, Jr. of Guilford and the late Mary, Thomas and Paul DePoto.
George was born in New Haven on May 15, 1936, a son of the late Joseph and Josephine Di Grazia DePoto. Prior to his retirement, he was the owner of the former Foxon Drive-In in East Haven. He was an Army veteran.
A Parlor Service will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 in the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven. Interment with military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
