Suspected Dealer Faces Manslaughter Charge In Fatal Montville Overdose: PD
A 23-year-old man died after overdosing on fentanyl, according to police.

MONTVILLE, CT — A man is accused of selling fentanyl to a 23-year-old who died of an overdose in January, police said.
On Wednesday, police charged Jaumaane Ladson, 33, with second-degree manslaughter, sale of a narcotic substance, and possession of a controlled substance.
Ladson was arrested on a warrant at Superior Court in Norwich.

Montville police were dispatched on Jan.13, 2026 to a home in Uncasville for a report of an unresponsive 23-year-old male.
Officers arrived and found the victim was deceased from a suspected overdose, police said.

An ensuing investigation led police to Ladson as the individual who sold fentanyl to the 23-year-old victim, leading to his death, according to police.
Local detectives were assisted by the state Forensic Science Laboratory, Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, Stonington and Waterford police, and parole officials. Ladson is currently on parole, according to police.
Ladson was held on a $250,000 court set bond and arraigned Wednesday.
