New Principal Appointed For Naugatuck Elementary School
The Naugatuck Board of Education recently appointed a new principal at an elementary school in town.
NAUGATUCK, CT β The Board of Education appointed a new principal of Hop Brook Elementary School Thursday evening, according to Naugatuck Public Schools.
In an announcement posted to Facebook, district officials said Heather Burke will begin the position July 1.
According to the district, Burke brings "a wealth of experience, dedication and heart" to the role.

Burke has served Naugatuck Public Schools in numerous leadership capacities over the years, including as lead teacher and reading consultant at Cross Street Intermediate School, according to the district.
District officials also noted Burke's "commitment to instructional excellence, positive school culture and strong relationships with students, staff and families" has been evident throughout her career.

"Heather is a thoughtful and student-centered leader who deeply understands our community and our district's vision that all students Learn, Thrive, and Belong," the district's post reads. "We are confident that Hop Brook Elementary School will continue to flourish under her leadership."
The district also thanked the school's current principal, Kathy Taylor, for her years of dedicated service and leadership.
"We wish her all the best in retirement and thank her for the lasting impact made on the Hop Brook community," the post reads.
