Water Main Break Damages Naugatuck Road: Police

Drivers are asked to avoid the area as crews work to make repairs, according to the Naugatuck Police Department.

NAUGATUCK, CT — Crews are working to repair a road in Naugatuck following a water main break reported late Tuesday morning, according to the Naugatuck Police Department.

In a Facebook post around 11 a.m., police said a water main break on Walnut Street between Grove and New streets caused damage to the road, as well as heavy water flow.

In an update around 11:45 a.m., police said the water had been shut off on the sections of May and Walnut streets between Grove and New streets as crews worked to make repairs.

According to police, the roadway section of Walnut Street between Grove and New streets remains impassable to traffic, and only residents will be granted access.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area as crews work to make the road safe, police said.
