Waterbury House Damaged After Dump Truck Rolls Backwards, Smashes Into It: PD

WATERBURY, CT — An unoccupied dump truck accidentally rolled backwards into a home on Forest Ridge Road Friday morning, according to police.

While the house was occupied at the time, Sgt. Joseph Morais said there were no injuries.

The level of structural damage to the home was still being determined as of early Friday afternoon.

“Currently, building inspectors and utility inspectors are on scene assessing the damage,” Morais said at 12:15 p.m.

There were no gas leaks associated with the accident, and police said the area has been determined to be safe, with no need for any evacuations.
