Silver Hill Hospital In New Canaan Names New Chief Development Officer

NEW CANAAN, CT — Silver Hill Hospital announced Friday that Lisa Ferraro has been named chief development officer.

According to a news release provided by the hospital, Ferraro will lead Silver Hill's fundraising strategy, working closely with donors, board members and the community to advance the hospital's mission.

"Philanthropy plays an important role in our ability to strengthen the care we provide and invest in the future of Silver Hill," Andrew Gerber, the hospital's president and medical director, said in a news release. "Lisa brings an exceptional record of building strong donor relationships and translating generosity into meaningful support for the institutions she serves. We're thrilled to welcome her."

According to the release, Ferraro brings more than three decades of fundraising leadership in healthcare and education.

She joins Silver Hill from Notre Dame High School in West Haven, where she served as vice president for development and exceeded her fundraising goal by 30 percent in her first year, according to the release.

She previously served as director of development, communications and marketing at Eagle Hill School, where she led a campaign that secured $9 million in gifts for a new community room and academic building renovations, according to the release.

Earlier in her career as director of development at Norwalk Hospital Foundation, she led the $30 million "Legacy of Caring" capital campaign, securing $27 million toward the goal, and grew annual fundraising revenue from $2 million to more than $10 million, according to the release.

"Great fundraising begins with relationships, Ferraro said in a news release. "It's about listening to donors and understanding what inspires them. I have a deep appreciation for the difference that skilled, compassionate treatment can make, and I'm eager to build meaningful connections between our donors and the patients and families we serve."

As an independent and nonprofit psychiatric hospital, philanthropic support enables Silver Hill to expand access to treatment, address emerging needs and pursue new opportunities to serve patients and the region, the release notes.

Ferraro earned her MBA in international finance from the University of Bridgeport and her bachelor's degree in finance from Pacific Lutheran University.

She has been a certified fund raising executive (CFRE) since 2003 and is a past president of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Fairfield County Chapter, according to the release.
