Upgrades Announced For Sidewalks On Major Road In New Canaan: Town
New Canaan is planning to improve mobility in the town center by upgrading sidewalks along this road, according to a recent announcement.

NEW CANAAN, CT — New Canaan is planning to improve mobility in the town center by upgrading sidewalks along Park Street, the town announced this week.
According to the town website, the project is funded by the Connecticut Department of Transportation Local Transportation Capital Improvement Program (LOTCIP).
The project includes the following elements, according to the town:

- Closing a gap in the existing pedestrian network by constructing a new sidewalk on the west side of Park Street between Seminary Street and Saint John Place.
- Upgrading the existing sidewalk on the west side of Park Street from Old Stamford Road to Richmond Hill Road.
Construction is anticipated to begin in 2027.
No trees are anticipated to be impacted as part of the project, according to the town.
