New Haven Health Department Nursing Director Named American Academy of Nursing Fellow

NEW HAVEN, CT — City health department director of nursing, Katherine (Kathy) Tucker, DNP, RN, APRN-BC, NE-BC, FAAN, was selected as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, officials said Monday.

Tucker leads the New Haven Health Department's Health and Wellness Center and oversees a team of more than 40 school nurses that serve students across New Haven, it was noted.

The American Academy of Nursing serves the public by advancing health policy and practice through the generation, synthesis, and dissemination of nursing knowledge and a "policy organization that recognizes nursing leaders whose work has advanced health through practice, research, education, administration, and policy."
