New Haven Open Streets Festival Series Returns With Live Music, Kids' Activities, Sports, Vendors, Food, More

NEW HAVEN, CT — It's baaaack.

Monday, Mayor Justin Elicker announced the return of the New Haven Open Streets Festival Series.

Held Sundays from 1 to 6 p.m., Aug. 9, 16, and 23, on Church Street between Chapel and Elm streets in front of City Hall, the event is presented by the City of New Haven's Department of Transportation, Traffic and Parking and the Economic Development Administration.

The Open Streets Festivals will close part of Church Street to vehicles, creating a welcoming public space where residents and visitors can experience downtown in a new way while supporting local businesses, enjoying live entertainment, and participating in free activities for all ages.

Each Sunday will feature a unique theme – including a pop-up roller rink, Aug. 9, an open-air bazaar and street market on Aug. 16, and a carnival on Aug. 26. On all dates the fest features live music, dance performances, kids' activities, sports activities, local vendors, food, and more.

This year's series is presented in partnership with the Proprietors of the New Haven Green, Black Wall Street Festival, Jersey Creators Market, New Haven United Football Club, Pretty Girlz Love Amapiano and Wine Down CT.
