Knife-Wielding Man Chased Juveniles In New London, Police Say
A man wearing a mask and carrying a knife was arrested in New London on Monday night, according to police.
NEW LONDON, CT — A man was charged after police said he wielded a knife and chased juveniles.
The New London Emergency Communications Center received a call for service in the area of Buchanan Road and Jefferson Avenue at 7:45 p.m. Monday.
The caller reported a man wearing a mask was carrying a knife and chasing juveniles in the area. The caller said the person had fled into Bates Woods.

Officers talked with witnesses who said the man was "waving a knife above his head and, at one point, acting as if he was stabbing the ground."
Police searched the area and used a drone to help in finding the suspect. Police found the man in the area of the New London Animal Control Office in Bates Woods Park.

Zakai Marshall, 19, of New London, was arrested. Police said he had a mask and a large buck knife at the time of his arrest.
He was charged with second-degree breach of peace, carrying a dangerous weapon, and simple trespass.
An investigation remains ongoing.
