Michael Theodoseau, devoted husband, father, grandfather & retired ship captain, passed away on Jan. 15, 2026

He will be remembered for his enduring love for his wife, children & grandchildren & for a life shaped by the sea, craft & quiet devotion.


Michael Theodoseau (1954-2026) a devoted husband, father, grandfather and retired ship captain, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, leaving his wife, Cindy, their three children and seven grandchildren. Gwendolyn (Jonathan) and their son George. Emily (Jesse) their sons; Everett, Theodore, and Mitchell. Nicholas (Amanda) with their daughters; Luna, Olivia, and Josephine, as well as his cherished dog, Lilah. He is predeceased by both parents, and survived by 5 siblings; Philip (Gail), Mary(Victor), Danny, Matthew (Lynne) & Timothy (Ruth).


Growing up in Staatsburg, NY Michael was a boy scout, earned his Eagle Scout rank and then became an Assistant Scout Master to troop 24 here in Milford, Connecticut for ten years. Michael graduated from SUNY Maritime College with a BS in Maritime Transportation and served as a Naval reservist for eight years before a distinguished career at sea.


An avid boater and skilled craftsman, he spent his spare time building small watercraft in his workshop, flying model airplanes he built and kayaking at the beach near his home, pursuits through which he shared his knowledge and passion with family and friends. He will be remembered for his enduring love for his wife, children and grandchildren and for a life shaped by the sea, craft and quiet devotion.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, January 23, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT 06460. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January, 24, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. St. Gabriel’s Church (26 Broadway, Milford, CT 06460). PLEASE MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
