Scholarship Available for New London Woman to Attend 5-Day Election Campaign Boot Camp

A full‑tuition scholarship is available for a woman living in New London County to attend an intensive five‑day political campaign training this June.

The Campaign School at Yale’s Summer Session, held June 8 to 12 at Yale Law School, prepares women—and the men who support their leadership—to run for elected office and win. Funding from the from Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut makes this $1,800 scholarship possible.

Designed to mirror the pace and pressure of a campaign, the Summer Session is intended for individuals of any party and Independents with some experience running for office or working on campaigns.

In the U.S. women hold just 32 percent of elected offices. Just 28 percent of the U.S. Congress is female. In Connecticut 35.8% of the state legislature is women.

The Campaign School at Yale is a nonpartisan and issue-neutral campaign institution dedicated to helping women improve representation in elected office. It is an independent nonprofit unaffiliated with Yale University.
