Southeastern CT Reentry Awards & Job Fair Coming Up In New London
Two local individuals will be honored for their contributions while a job fair will connect employers with those seeking work.
NEW LONDON, CT — The first Southeastern CT Reentry Awards & Job Fair will be Friday, April 17, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at OIC at 106 Truman St.
The award presentation will be at 11 a.m.
Hosted by the Southeastern Connecticut Reentry Council, the event will "bring together employers, service providers, advocates, and returning citizens to celebrate the power of second chances while promoting employment opportunities for individuals returning to the community after incarceration," according to a statement.

The event will also honor two people "whose work made a lasting impact on the reentry community in Connecticut."
Daryl McGraw, founder of Formerly Inc., recognized for his "leadership in criminal justice reform and advocacy for individuals impacted by incarceration."

Winston Taylor, of the Connecticut Department of Children and Families and Shiloh Prison Ministry, will be honored for "his dedication to mentorship, faith-based support, and community outreach to individuals and families affected by incarceration," according to the statement.
The event will also feature a job fair connecting employers with individuals seeking meaningful employment opportunities as they reintegrate into the workforce.
The Southeastern Connecticut Reentry Council works collaboratively with community organizations, government agencies, and service providers to support successful reintegration, reduce recidivism, and expand access to employment, housing, and community support for returning citizens.
