2-Car Crash Sends Vehicle Into Tree In Newtown

Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon.

NEWTOWN, CT — No injuries were reported after a two-vehicle crash on Main Street Sunday afternoon that sent one vehicle partially off the roadway and into a tree, according to Newtown Hook & Ladder.

Firefighters and the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps were dispatched to the crash shortly after 4 p.m.

When crews arrived, they found one of the vehicles had partially left the roadway and struck a tree, fire officials said.

Firefighters secured the scene while EMS evaluated those involved. One of the vehicles was later removed by a towing company.

Officials thanked motorists for their patience while emergency crews worked to safely clear the roadway.

Fire officials also reminded drivers to slow down, move over when possible and remain alert whenever emergency vehicles are operating on the roadway.
