Here Are The Most Recent Property Sales In Newtown

Five recent Newtown home sales ranged from just over $500,000 to $1.15 million, including two properties in Sandy Hook.

From a Sugar Street colonial to a sprawling Sandy Hook retreat on Horseshoe Ridge Road, Newtown's real estate market has covered a lot of ground this month.

Five homes sold in Newtown between Sept. 10 and Sept. 15, with a top price of $1,150,000, according to Zillow.com.

The most recent closing in this batch is 175 Sugar St., which sold Sept. 15 for $515,000. The three-bedroom, three-bath home offers 2,606 square feet of living space on a 1.75-acre lot, at $197.62 per square foot.

In the Sandy Hook section of town, 23 Old Green Road sold Sept. 14 for $795,000. The four-bedroom, three-bath home spans 2,594 square feet on a two-acre lot, at $306.48 per square foot.

3 Saddle Ridge Road sold Sept. 11 for $700,000. The four-bedroom, three-bath home offers 2,704 square feet on a two-acre lot, at $258.88 per square foot.

The same day, 832 Brookside Court sold for $572,500. The two-bedroom, two-bath condo offers 1,807 square feet, at $316.82 per square foot.

The top price of the five belongs to 8 Horseshoe Ridge Road, also in Sandy Hook, which sold Sept. 10 for $1,150,000. The four-bedroom, four-bath home spans 5,451 square feet on a 5.66-acre lot, at $210.97 per square foot.

What this says about the Newtown market: Two of the five sales in this batch came out of the Sandy Hook section, including the top price of the group, while the Newtown-proper sales stayed more modest — a reminder that "Newtown" covers more than one distinct neighborhood with its own price tier.
