Danbury Teen Killed In Motorcycle Crash With Box Truck In Newtown: Police

The crash happened Monday evening and remains under investigation, police said.

NEWTOWN, CT — A teen motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving a box truck Monday evening in Newtown, according to police.

Officers were called to Hawleyville Road near North Ridge Drive around 5:49 p.m. after witnesses reported a collision between the two vehicles, the said.

Christopher Guallpa-Lema, an 18-year-old Danbury resident and operator of the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Guallpa-Lema was traveling northbound on a black Kawasaki motorcycle and hit the rear of a FedEx delivery truck.

Hawleyville Road remained closed for several hours, reopening around 10 p.m., as authorities investigated the crash.
