Pickup Truck Strikes Car, Flees Scene In Newtown: Police

The driver of the truck left the scene and was last seen heading east, police said.

NEWTOWN, CT — Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash involving a pickup truck in Newtown and are asking for the public’s help identifying the driver.

The crash happened around 10:22 a.m. April 18 at the intersection of High Bridge Road and Botsford Hill Road, according to an accident report.

Police said a black Dodge Ram pickup truck struck a Honda Civic before leaving the scene. The truck was last seen traveling eastbound on High Bridge Road.

The driver of the pickup is described as an older man with a black-and-white full beard and short hair, according to police.

No injuries were reported in the crash, police said.
