According to police, Brennan McGrath has allegedly kept the child away from her mother for an extended period of time and is now accused of violating a temporary child custody order issued by the court. Police said a Silver Alert was issued Tuesday evening after repeated requests to comply with the order were unsuccessful.

The Newtown Police Department said it is asking for the public’s help in locating the child and bringing the situation to a safe resolution.
