'Behind The Badge' Experience: North Branford Police Department's Citizen Academy Now Accepting Applications

NORTH BRANFORD, CT — Applications are now open for the North Branford Police Department's Citizen Police Academy.

"Ever wonder what it’s like to be a police officer? Want to learn more about the training, responsibilities, and day-to-day operations of your North Branford Police Department," a social media post reads.

According to police, the academy delivers an "inside look at law enforcement and an opportunity to build stronger connections between our officers and the community we proudly serve."

Topics of study for academy enrollees include Police Operations and Patrol, Investigations and Evidence, Emergency Response, Communications & 911, Use of Force and Police Training, Traffic Enforcement, and Community Policing.

"This is a great opportunity to meet our officers, ask questions, see our equipment, and gain a better understanding of the work our department does every day to keep North Branford safe," police said about the academy.

Applications are now being accepted. Space is limited, so interested residents are encouraged to apply early.

"Come behind the badge and experience your police department from a different perspective," the Facebook post reads.
