‘Illicit And Illegal Dumping’ Investigated In North Haven: First Selectman

Police are pursuing criminal charges against the suspects responsible for the "massive amount of debris illegally dumped," in North Haven.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Officials have identified possible suspects in connection with the recent “illicit and illegal dumping” on Valley Service Road in North Haven, according to North Haven First Selectman Michael Freda.

Freda wrote an update to residents in a post on Facebook regarding the “massive amount of debris illegally dumped there.”

“We have determined who the culprits might be and we are pursuing criminal activity with them,” Freda wrote. “I’ve said this before and I will say it again, those perpetrators who engage in criminal activity here in North Haven may be able to run but they won’t be able to hide. They will be found.

“We are doing two other things. One is developing a plan that picks up the colossal mess that exists there as a result of that dumping but that will take some time with the heavy debris that’s there.

“And secondly, we are moving forward with high powered surveillance on that road to catch people in the act, and to prevent future dumping from occurring.”
