Man, 21, Seriously Injured In Fireworks Incident In North Haven: Report

The man was taken to the hospital after the incident, according to a report.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A 21-year-old man was hospitalized after suffering serious facial injuries when a firework that he reportedly ignited exploded near his face at a home in North Haven on Sunday night, according to the New Haven Register.

The Register reports illegal fireworks were seized at the scene, but no arrests were made, and police are continuing to investigate.

During the 4th of July holiday weekend, Connecticut State Police responded to 3,815 calls for service, including 781 traffic stops.

A total of 481 calls included state police providing debris removal and assisting with disabled or hazardous motor vehicles, according to police.

There were 10 DUI arrests, 189 crashes were reported, 16 with injuries, and one fatal crash, state police said.
