Man Secretly Took ‘Inappropriate’ Photos, Videos Of Woman At Store In North Haven: PD

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A Hamden man is accused of taking “inappropriate” photos and videos of a woman without her knowledge at a store in North Haven, according to police.

North Haven officers responded to a business on Universal Drive on May 31 on the report of suspicious behavior inside the store, according to police.

Police said officers learned that a family inside the business believed a man, identified as 33-year-old Jordan Stevens of Hamden, used his cellphone to “capture inappropriate photographs and videos of a female victim, without her knowledge or consent.”

“As the investigation progressed, officers conducted several interviews and obtained digital evidence from Stevens' cellular device that revealed numerous photographs and videos depicting multiple women who appeared unaware they were being recorded or photographed,” police wrote in a news release.

Stevens was arrested and charged with voyeurism with malice and breach of peace. He was held in lieu of a $10,000 bond and taken to Meriden Superior Court for arraignment. He was then released on a promise to appear in court on July 14, according to state judicial records.
