North Haven Man Robbed Bank While On Supervised Release: Feds

The man is accused of robbing a bank while he was on federal supervised release, according to officials.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A North Haven man has been indicted on a federal charge in connection with a bank robbery in Berlin on New Year’s Eve, according to officials.

A federal grand jury in New Haven returned an indictment last week charging Thomas Marra, 55, with bank robbery, U.S. Attorney for Connecticut David X. Sullivan announced in a news release.

Marra is accused of robbing the Webster Bank on Webster Square Road in Berlin on Dec. 31.

If convicted of the offense, officials said Marra faces a maximum term of 20 years in prison.

Marra has been detained since his arrest on related state charges on Jan. 7.

“In May 2023, Marra was sentenced in New Haven federal court to 60 months of imprisonment for a narcotics trafficking offense,” officials wrote in a news release. “He was released from prison in June 2025 and was on federal supervised release at the time of the alleged bank robbery. Marra faces additional penalties if he is found to have violated the conditions of his supervised release.”
