October In North Haven: Fall Fun, Festivals & More

Fall is officially here in North Haven, and there’s no shortage of ways to make the most of it. From festivals and farmers markets to pumpkin patches, live music and other seasonal fun, October brings plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy what’s happening close to home.

Here are some events and activities happening in and around North Haven this October.

Pumpkin Patch Trolley 2026

When: Weekends in October, and Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: The Shore Line Trolley Museum | 17 River Street, East Haven

All aboard the Shore Line Trolley in nearby East Haven for a fall outing at the Pumpkin Patch Trolley 2026, running weekends throughout October plus Monday, Oct. 12, 2026. Families can take a scenic trolley ride to the pumpkin patch, choose a sugar pumpkin to bring home and enjoy seasonal activities along the way. The event runs from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the last trolley departing at 4 p.m., and advance tickets are available online.

Bishop’s Fall Festival

When: Daily, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; last ticket sold at 4:30 p.m.
Where: Bishop’s Orchards | 480 New England Road, Guilford

Take a trip to nearby Guilford for Bishop’s Fall Festival, a farm-filled celebration with apple picking, wagon rides, a four-acre corn maze, pumpkin patch, activity area and seasonal food. Families can also check out attractions including bounce pads, pedal karts, a corn crib, games and weekend-only features such as the Apple Train and Mega Slide. All-access tickets cost $10 online on weekdays or $13 at the gate and $15 online on weekends and holidays or $18 at the gate; children 24 months and younger do not need a ticket.

2026 Corn Maze at Lyman Orchards

When: Daily through Nov. 1, 2026; Monday–Friday, 1–5:30 p.m.; weekends and holidays, 10 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
Where: Lyman Orchards | 32 Reeds Gap Road, Middlefield

Head to nearby Middlefield for the 2026 Corn Maze at Lyman Orchards, themed around 250 years of U.S. history. The roughly four-acre maze includes more than a mile of pathways, trivia checkpoints and an official maze map, with most visitors taking about 30 to 40 minutes to find their way through. Admission is $12 for ages 13 and older, $7 for ages 4 to 12 and free for children 3 and younger, with a portion of each ticket supporting cancer organizations.

CitySeed Wooster Square Farmers Market

When: Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: 511 Chapel Street, New Haven

Start your Saturday with a taste of Connecticut at the CitySeed Wooster Square Farmers' Market in nearby New Haven, open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Nov. 21, 2026. Shoppers can browse seasonal offerings from Connecticut producers, including fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, dairy, eggs, baked goods, seafood and prepared foods.

Ghosts Of New Haven

When: Fridays and Saturdays for group tours (private tours available by booking daily), 7:30 p.m.
Where: 1070 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT

Take a nighttime walk through New Haven's darker history during Ghosts of New Haven, a recurring tour series. The 90-minute walking tour explores local legends and tales involving historic cemeteries, secret societies, Yale's founders and other reportedly haunted corners of the city. Tours meet outside Starbucks at 1070 Chapel St., with adult tickets starting at $25 and discounted admission available for students, children, military members and seniors.
