NORWALK, CT — A new coastal kitchen concept is planned to open soon at Calf Pasture Beach, replacing a longtime beachside restaurant and snack stand that closed last year.

In a Facebook post this week, the city announced Luca's Beach Kitchen, a new beachside dining and events destination, is officially coming to Calf Pasture Beach.

"Blending a modern concession, open-air seating and an all new vibrant event space, Luca's is designed to bring a fresh, elevated energy to the waterfront — where great food, coastal vibes and community come together," the city's post reads.

A Facebook page for the new beachside concept also teased the forthcoming opening.

"We've been working behind the scenes on a fresh new concept that we can't wait to share with you," the page's first post reads. "Think great food, beachside vibes and a whole new energy for the waterfront."

An officials menu has not been announced yet, however both the city and Luca's posts teased that more details would be coming soon.

The new beach kitchen's Instagram page also notes it is currently hiring for its founding team in Norwalk.

"We're a coastal kitchen concept with serious flavor and serious fun, and we're looking for people who bring both," the hiring post reads. "Whether you're flipping burgers, serving guests or running the line, if you've got heart we've got a spot for you."

The new concept comes on the heels of the closure of Ripka's Beach Café, a popular beachside restaurant and snack stand that became a seasonal staple at the beach for 13 years.

Ripka's, which officially closed in October, featured a menu that included seafood, burgers, sandwiches, salads, ice cream and wood-fired pizzas, as well as draft beer and a list of frozen and specialty drinks.
