Portion Of Road Closed In Norwalk Due To Possible Gas Leak: Police
Drivers are asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes until further notice, according to police.
NORWALK, CT — A portion of a road in Norwalk is closed Wednesday afternoon due to a possible gas leak, according to the Norwalk Police Department.
In a Facebook post around 3:30 p.m., police said the area of West Avenue at Butler Street is currently closed to all traffic due to a broken underground gas line.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes until further notice, police said.

"We appreciate your patience and cooperation as crews work to safely resolve the situation," police wrote on Facebook. "Updates will be provided as they become available."
In an update minutes later, police said West Avenue is temporarily closed near Maple Street due to a possible gas leak and noted they were waiting for Eversource crews to arrive in the area.
