Riding Lawnmower Bursts Into Flames: Norwalk Fire Department

NORWALK, CT — The City of Norwalk Fire Department responded to a reported lawn mower on fire up against a garage on Sherwood Street at approximately 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Firefighters arrived to find a riding lawnmower fully engulfed in flames next to a detached single-car garage, officials said. The fire had extended to the garage’s exterior and was extending into the soffits and up to the peak.

Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire, preventing it from spreading into the interior. The Norwalk Fire Marshal Division is investigating the cause of the fire.
