The owners made the announcement recently with "incredibly heavy hearts."

NORWICH, CT — A waterfront food stand and ice cream spot in Norwich announced it will be closing permanently next month.

The Encanto Scoops at the Docks family made the announcement with "incredibly heavy hearts" that they will be closing for good at the end of February, according to a post on the establishment's Facebook page.

"What started as a dream became so much more because of all of you," Encanto Scoops posted. "Every smile, every family tradition, every late-night meal, or scoop of ice cream by the water meant everything to us. This place wasn’t just about ice cream and tacos —it was about community, memories, and love. This decision did not come easily, and saying goodbye is one of the hardest things we’ve had to do."
