(Kunstraum) Dada Post was an artist-run organization, founded in January 2008, by Howard McCalebb in Berlin, Germany. In 2022 Mr. McCalebb moved to Norwich, Connecticut, and establish the art gallery Dada Post USA. Mr. McCalebb is a sculptor and active figure on the international art scene. Dada Post USA is an autonomous space for the production, display and discussion of current art. Foremost, we contemplate artistic expression from the standpoint of pure inspiration emanating from the source – the artist. We are keenly interested in the effects of Globalization on art practice, and the notion of a hybridized Post Modern art practice. As a contemporary art space, Dada Post USA is primarily concerned with artwork that is the most current, reflecting the actual meaning of the term: Contemporary Art. We offer a program of exhibitions and events, featuring videos, poetry/literary readings, music and other live performances, during and between art exhibitions. The original inspiration for both (Kunstraum) Dada Post and Dada Post USA was the Cabaret Voltaire in Zürich, Switzerland and Andy Warhol’s Factory in New York City – which were open venues for impromptu gatherings, events, and artistic experimentation. PRESTON, CT — Mirlande Etienne, 33, of Norwich, was fatally struck by a vehicle on Friday night, state police said. On Feb. 13, Troop "E" Montville State Troopers responded to a motor vehicle versus a pedestrian on Route 2 in the Town of Preston around 6:54 p.m. State Police said a 2017 Subaru Outback bearing RI registration was seen in an eastbound lane pulled over, state police said. The operator and front passenger were not injured and remained in the vehicle, state police said. A pedestrian walking on Route 2 was struck and later pronounced deceased at William W. Backus Hospital. The crash is under investigation.
